Wandi, our dingo, is a pure Australian alpine dingo. He lives around the snowy mountain range in Victoria and New South Wales. His species can be found in forests, deserts and other parts of Australia. He loves hunting and eating kangaroos, wallabies, feral pigs and cats, rabbits, foxes, wombats, rodents, birds and lizards. He’ll sleep in a cave or hollow log when he’s fully fed and tired.

Wandi our dingo is a full-bodied hand puppet. He’s designed and handmade in the shape and colours of an Australian dingo in the wild. He is stuffed like a soft toy but comes to life. Your hand goes in from his stomach into his front appendages, head, and mouth. Bring him to life and make him talk. He has lots of stories and adventures to share with you. Your baby and child will bond with Wandi their hand puppet. You won’t be able to separate them.

Your baby and child will love, respect and gain empathy for dingoes, becoming passionate about preserving wildlife and their environment. We spent time meticulously creating Wandi to resemble an Australian dingo in the wild. We use golden rusty brown fur on his body, head, arms and legs. He has white fur on his chin, chest, and stomach. He has beautiful, engaging, rustic brown eyes and a black fabric nose. His erect ears are typical of dingoes.

Our Wandi is smiling, lovable, and cuddly. Match him with a book or sheepskin toy or puzzle for an even more perfect gift.

Promotes Confidence & Self-Esteem

Your child will shine with their animal puppet and learn to love animals.

Chose an animal that your child loves. Their animal puppet will encourage them to understand and protect wildlife.

Your child will bring their animal puppet to life as an independent personality and mimic the animal’s body language and sounds.

Your child will use their animal puppet as an extension of themself, to express emotional stresses.

Your child’s animal puppet will allow your child to,

  • Articulate emotional stresses and feelings, resolving them. They will tell their puppets secrets and stories, that they find difficult to share with friends and adults.
  • Express themself by speaking to you through their puppet. They’ll gain trust and become brave about sharing their inner thoughts.
  • Have courage to speak out and to talk in front of an audience.
  • Practise public speaking.
  • Communicate with their family, friends, and classmates.
  • Socialise and interact with children and adults.
  • Develop their language skills.

Puppets promote confidence, self-esteem, and a can-do attitude.

Benefits of Puppets

Research with early education specialists has highlighted and proven that puppets, as an educational toy for a child’s growing and developing mind have many benefits. Puppets are used as a teacher’s or parent’s aid.

Your children will listen to their animal puppet. When you speak through an animal puppet, your child will respond positively. The puppet will ask your child to brush their teeth or do their homework. You’ll find that your child will complete these tasks, because it’s the puppet asking and not you.

Animal puppets will work fine and gross motor skill dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. Children need to put their hand inside their puppet to manipulate the puppet’s arms, face, and mouth.

By playing with their animal puppets, your child will exercise their memory, develop their language, and become brave and empowered. When children re-tell a story they heard, you will see what they remembered and get an insight into their use of language and reading skills.

When your child performs their puppet show, they learn organisational skills. Your child may create their own story to perform through their puppet, learning script, and creative writing skills. Through their performance, you will get an insight into your child’s emotions and feelings about issues that may come up for them.

Empower children through interactive, imaginative, and creative play.
